Description:
Basic Responsibilities include:
- Establish and maintain all IT systems throughout the organization, including but not limited to email, network equipment, servers, firewalls, enterprise applications, postproduction applications (Discreet AutoDesk Flame/Inferno) and phone systems
- Maintain various server and workstation configurations including Solaris, IRIX, Windows 2000/2003, Linux and Mac OS X
- Provide analysis of systems, workflows, topologies and configurations
- Provide documentation of all procedures for other team members
- Provide leadership and oversight for junior team members
- Analyze new technologies and provide recommendations for implementation
- Be available for after hours and on-call support,
Professional Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Solaris and other Unix variants
- Strong knowledge of fundamental networking protocols as well as the OSI network model (tcp/ip, udp, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of Internet protocols (http, smtp, dns, etc.)
- Strong understanding of diagnostic tools (top, vmstat, prstat, dtrace, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of designing and troubleshooting network systems
- Experience with data storage management and backup
- Experience writing shell scripts to automate various tasks
- Experience working with switching technologies (Cisco, Extreme, Force 10, etc.)
- Experience with Discreet AutoDesk Flame or Inferno systems
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a dynamic environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with users both internally and externally
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor of Science or Masters in Computer Science or equivalent experience in related fields required
- Minimum of 4 years leading a team that supports a production environment
- Prior experience in animation, design and postproduction a plus
